The top five companies accounted for 28% of patenting activity
Analysis of patenting activity by companies shows that Nippon Shuppan Hanbai filed the most robotics patents within the construction industry in Q3 2024. The company filed 9 robotics-related patents in the quarter. It was followed by Czestochowa University of Technology with 9 robotics patent filings, Korea Institute of Industrial Technology (KITECH) (5 filings), and Komatsu (2 filings) in Q3 2024.
Patenting activity was driven by China with a 21% share of total patent filings
The largest share of robotics related patent filings in the construction industry in Q3 2024 was in China with 21%, followed by the US (15%) and Poland (9%). The share represented by China was 33% lower than the 54% share it accounted for in Q2 2024.
