(L&T) has announced a new addition to its construction verticals, the Renewable EPC business.
The move comes as the company seeks to enhance management visibility and ensure the seamless integration of resources and capabilities in the renewable energy sector.
L&T chair and managing director SN Subrahmanyan said: “The growth of renewable EPC business has accelerated in recent years. Thanks to our early start and investments, we have built an organisation that is uniquely placed in the value chain of creating sustainable energy infrastructure. This space is promising.
“Multiple opportunities are visible. We want to capitalise on our success and wish to remain a preferred partner of choice for our customers. Creation of this vertical will give increased autonomy, customer proximity and leadership oversight to the business and enable us to excel in this space.”
L&T includes a portfolio, with 22GWp of renewable EPC experience, including ground-mounted solar, floating solar, and wind balance of plant projects.
The company’s battery energy storage system implementations a total of 3GWh.

In Saudi Arabia, L&T’s project involvement includes the 700MW Ar Rass Solar PV IPP, the 2,000MW Ar Rass-2 Solar PV IPP, and the 1.6GW Sudair solar plant.
It has also recently secured orders for two additional plants with a combined capacity of 3.5GW AC.
In addition, L&T is working on a 250MWp solar photovoltaic plant within the Amaala Project and has completed solar installation in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
In the United Arab Emirates, the company is executing Phase 6 of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park in Dubai.
India has also seen L&T’s expertise with the recent commissioning of the 90MW Omkareshwar Floating Solar project.
To lead this unit within its Infrastructure Projects segment, L&T senior vice-president A Ravindran has been appointed as Renewable Business head.
In March this year, L&T Construction’s Buildings & Factories vertical secured several orders in the domestic and international markets.
